First thing’s first…… I just want to let you know that I love you and appreciate you. Why? Because you’re on this planet, sharing this experience with me.

And I’m leaning more and more into telling people how I feel about them….even if it seems to come out of nowhere and might seem a little weird (I’m not sharing the negative things I find about them, just the positives)

……and I’ve learned that life is short. It’s truly precious. It goes fast. It’s important to live as big as we’re meant to live in this amount of time that we’re allotted.

I’ll be honest with you…. this has been the toughest year that I can remember.

I know that every single one of you has also had a hard year….no matter where you live, what your socio-economic status is, no matter if you live alone or with 10 other people. You’ve experienced a changing world.

Change is hard. Heart break is hard. Watching the world is hard.

I’ve had to dig deep to keep my mind and body healthy and vital this past year and a half, as I know you have, too. But, I’m coming out on top and…..

The 3 things that have really saved me through all of this are:

  1. Meditation
  2. Getting adjusted with my Chiropractor
  3. Staying around friends and family who love me and support me, unconditionally

Let’s talk about the Chiropractic piece. Chiropractic helps alleviate built up stress in the body. Whether you experienced emotional/mental or physical stress, inevitably, it gets stuck in your body. Most humans aren’t great at relieving stress. Watching animals, you’ll see that, after stressful encounters, they’ll shake, roll on the ground, and sleep for the rest of the day.

We humans are TERRIBLE about even identifying a stress. But, on top of that, we just keep going. We don’t stop. We don’t process what we’ve just experienced. We don’t take the time to shed the excess cortisol and adrenaline from our muscles.

Instead, our bodies store that stress away for a rainy day. ‘Rainy days’ are when you’ve experienced so much stress and just one more thing enters into the picture and your back ‘just goes out’ or your knee ‘tweaked out for no apparent reason’ or ‘I don’t know why I got sick…I’m perfectly healthy!’. I can take a good guess…..all of that stress, anger, sadness has been building up with no way to release.

I’ll share with you what I share with my patients….your nervous system, comprised of your spinal cord and nerves that go to every single cell in your body to provide information….. become like tightly coiled springs with too much stress. Chiropractic and Craniosacral therapy (which is my passion in my practice) help to unwind that tension to soften and allow the flow of ‘electricity’ and energy flow throughout your body. And this is when healing takes place. This is when tension is released. This is when you can feel truly aligned with your higher self.

Every time I work with a patient, I love it when I feel their breathing deepen and relax… when the muscle tension melts away, giving way to less pain and increased vitality.

I know I’ve written so much about food, mindset and lifestyle over these many years, but I tend to forget to write about the thing I love the most. My intent has always been to share information so that you can care for yourself with what you have in your environment.

Everyday, I experience the power of what craniosacral therapy and Chiropractic does for people. I  feel that it’s equally important that I share this part of my life with you, as well, as I believe it’s a critical component for health and healing.

And I know that most of you aren’t living close by and can just pop in for an appointment….but I’m sure you have fabulous practitioners wherever you are in the world. If you can’t find a Chiropractor and Craniosacral practitioner, I’m sure you can find different kinds of body workers, healers, acupuncturists.

I’ve found that, no matter how well I eat, drink, sleep, think and move, I still benefit from having body work to find and release those blocks that stick around, no matter what I do.

My challenge to you:

  1. Take 3-5 minutes and think about the top 5 people in your life who bring a smile to your face and make your heart happy. Write those names down. These are the people you want to spend the MOST time with. Prioritize these people. Make time to be with them. I hope at least one of those people is yourself 😉

  2. Now, take a couple of minutes to identify 3-5 people you have in your life that really dull your sparkle. You know, those people that you think of and your heart goes heavy, and you have to prepare yourself for a battle? Those people, write their names down, too. If you want to get really brutal, you can release them from your life. Or, if that’s too hard, just choose to spend as little time as possible with them.

  3. I’m a huge believer in the people we spend our time with is very precious. I’m busy, my life is full, and I have little time to spend with people who I let make me feel badly about myself….this also decreases your life force and decreases your immune system.
  • Choose yourself over energy sucking people.

  • You’re vitality and health is worth it!

As always, I’m sending you health, happiness and laughter, wherever you are in the world. Keep smiling. Keep dancing. Keep laughing.
