My friend from Los Angeles turned me onto this book a few months ago, and I finally got to read it this month. Something about Life-Changing Foods is giving me hope in the midst of what seems like a lot of hopelessness around food, health and the bombardment of chemicals and pollution in our environment.
In the introduction, William starts talking about food in a different way than we’re used to… he doesn’t address sugar content, nutritional value, or how much vitamin C is contained in each food. Because he’s a medical medium, he has tuned into the healing vibration of each food.
I LOVE this concept. It’s how I was taught to view food. It’s not all about the FDA breakdown of nutritional value, but rather why these foods are offered to us by nature. He goes into why it’s so important that we have a relationship with our food…..things like growing your own food and being around that food so that it can absorb your energy and create special healing qualities uniquely for you.
One of my favorite points he brings up is about potatoes. Most health-care professionals steer people away from them because of their high sugar content. William says that potatoes are here to help ground us and give us a sense of belonging (think of how they grow underground in clusters, or ‘families). I LOVE potatoes, especially after a long work day when I’m feeling spaced out and ungrounded. After reading this, I now understand my love affair.
He also talks about so many of our environmental toxins and modern-day diseases can be healed through consuming specific foods. If you’ve followed me for awhile, you know I’m a big fan of ‘Food as Medicine’, which incidentally is the name of another book that I love by the same name). This book is in complete alignment with this. I invite you to take a look at this book, read the introduction and enjoy the inspiration it brings through his beautiful energy and love for nature’s best healing gift.
