Now that we’ve rounded the corner and we’re officially in 2025, most of us are getting back into the ‘real world’ again.

As much as I would like to keep sitting in front of the fire with my family, on my couch, watching the rest of ‘Ted Lasso’ and having long morning walks everyday, I know that old saying ‘all good things must come to an end’.

I truly relaxed deeply during the holiday…so much so that I forgot what day it was and when my last shower was….THAT’S how deeply I went. Sound familiar?

Literally, something switched off in my brain and body these last couple weeks and I don’t want to rev up my adrenals anymore to match the fast pace of ‘the rest of the world’.

My big take-aways from this last couple weeks are the following:

1. I do NOT want to go back to the hussle life I’d created for myself these last couple years.
2. I’m done with social media
3. I want to just be….meaning I want to sit with myself and witness my own thoughts rather than having the thousands of  outside voices competing for my attention.

What about you friend? Are there any life-improvement awarenesses you had over the holidays that you’d like to continue on with?

For me in 2025, I want to be with people I care about.

I want to be mindful about how and where I put my attention. This includes not having junk constantly infiltrating into my consciousness. This means that I’m not going to multi-task all day, everyday. I want to be free to laugh with my daugher over a cup of chai.

I want to meditate in the mornings. I want to breathe more deeply without the thousands of tasks looming over me. I want to move slowly, eat good food, sleep deeply.

I want to let my body rest, to heal, to repair. I’ve asked so much of it over the last 35 years and it’s treated me well. I think it’s time to slow down and let it breathe.

And you know what? I’m pretty darn sure I’m not the only one feeling this way. I’ve had a wave of folks come into my orbit, who are deleting apps from their phones and turning off the tv at night and….even if they’re not sure what’s next, they know that what they’ve been doing isn’t working for them anymore.

Is this resonating with you, friend ?

If slowing down, at least a bit, feels like something that you’re on board with, moving forward, you’re not alone. I feel that we’ve all been inundated with SO MUCH this last year and I feel that so many of us are over it. Finding the slowness, the presence to have our own thoughts and ideas and space to think are coming to the surface as a theme I’m seeing for this year.

Taking back your time. Taking back your thoughts. Taking back your energy. These are non-renewable resources and it’s important to make sure you’re very selfish with them.

Join me in my musings on this new year, new mindset…..and maybe you can see the herd of antelope that happened to be right near me when I was out!!! I didn’t even see them until I was almost right there….such a fun treat! Apologies for the wind noise….my fingers were freezing and I did NOT want to do a re-do! But it’s beautiful!

One of my patients, who’s become a friend, was in last week and we were discussing social media. He’s the one who inspired me to delete social media apps off my phone because of this anecdote: He said that he doesn’t even want to watch puppy videos that his friends show him and instead, to use that time to go play with his own puppy.

I loved this. It reminded me how much time I was spending (and it wasn’t even that much time….maybe an hour or 2 a week) and how I could use that time to call a friend or go exercise, or spend more time learning another language, go volunteer at the animal shelter rather than sitting on the couch WATCHING dogs do funny things online…..or even just to sit with my own thoughts ( wow, that takes me back to the ’90’s….the concept of just being a bit bored and being with oneself).

What can you do/learn/practice this new year?

What kinds of activities will give you that deep sense of self……..Those activities that truly fill up your heart and spirit and make you feel alive?

Can you spend that 10 mins doing some squats? Making a green smoothie? Calling a friend or family member to catch up? Learn some Spanish? Start a new meditation practice? Learn how to ski? Plan a trip to Greece? Go volunteer at a local organization?

And if this is the year that you’re ready to take action on improving your health, I think you might be interested in a new (old!) service I’ll be offering this year:

Whether you’re new to my orbit or have been along with me for a couple decades, you’ve probably seen how many ways there are that we can support your health journey. Whether you’re actively working with a health condition or want to make sure you keep your health up, I’ve got some amazing new oppurtunities to work together…..

I’m starting up my telehealth appointments for you and your family again this year and offering:

Comprehensive Blood Reading with Actionable Insights for Your Health

What this means for you:

Blood panels, and the way they’re traditionally read, have very wide margins of what’s ‘normal’. This means that they’re only looking for a pathology.

Traditionally blood work is used to make a diagnosis. It DOES NOT tell you if there’s something brewing behind the scenes that could, if left unchecked, result in problems down the road.

I take an overall, in-depth look at all of your lab work, read it from a holistic perspective and use that, along with a comprehensive symptoms questionnaire, to give you a step-by-step plan to support your health.

I work with you, whatever your health goals are, to support repair, energy, detoxification, blood sugar regulation, digestive health,  lowering inflammation, and reducing pain.

Here are some other ways we can work together right now! Here’s how:

During the cold and flu season, taking herbal and nutritional support is paramount for boosting your immune systems! I’ve had so many people cancel this last couple weeks due to sickness. Increase your chances of staying vital with taking good support. If you’re intersted in what I recommend, click here
If you’re here locally,
I’m offering quick Zinc tests at every appointment to see if you’re flush with this very important support for hundreds of functions in your body.
Did you know that Zinc is essential to the synthesis of DNA, RNA, proteins and insulin? It also enhances wound healing and for your taste and smell?!

Herbal Supplements I Trust: I’m here to support you every step of the way towards a healthier, happier you. One of the ways to help you is to get the right supplements. Here are some of the
supplements that I recommend.

Telehealth Sessions For a number of reasons, meeting with me online might feel more supportive to you at the moment. My books are currently open for telehealth sessions where I can support you in reading your medical charts, finding solutions to your plaguing health issues, or providing alternative holistic support.

And when all is said and done, at the end of the day, remember that you have sovereignty. Sovereignty within your own self.

The more you take time to be with yourself, to form your own thoughts, to have space and to know that, no matter what, YOU have power, and no one can take that away from you.

You can take time away, to get quiet and be your own best healer.

You’ve got this!

Take a deep breath and enjoy.
